Autumn Concert 2014

Friday 10th October was the date of our choir’s Autumn Concert, held at Cosy Hall, Newport, Shropshire.

The items that made up the programme for this concert had been chosen by choir members as being their favourites, and the audience reaction indicated that the songs certainly found favour with them.

Among the songs performed were Arwyn’s arrangement of Benedictus; The Lord is my Shepherd sung in the arrangement by Howard Goddard that was the title music of the TV comedy The Vicar of Dibley; the World War One favourite Roses of Picardy; a couple of Rogers & Hammerstein numbers, and Gwyn Arch’s arrangement of the African Trilogy.  All in all this was a very varied programme, which amply demonstrated the range and versatility of the Newport (Salop) & District Male Voice Choir.

The last weeks of 2014 will be quite a busy period period for the choir, with a number of concerts planned. Our next outing will be at Blymhill and Weston Village Hall, TF11 8LJ on Friday 7th November at 7.30 pm, and we very much hope that you will come and share the evening with us. Tickets will be available at the very reasonable cost of £5.00.
