Newport (Salop) & District Male Voice Choir Hog Roast

Apart from the joy that we all get from singing together, another benefit that members of our choir get from our joint activities is the pleasure of mixing together socially, and we had an ideal opportunity for that on Saturday 5th September 2015, when the choir held its Hog Roast at Edgmond Bowling Club, near Newport. Last year when we held this event the weather let us down rather badly, but this time the elements were much kinder to us, and attendees were able to stray outdoors and demonstrate their prowess on the bowling green.

Newport Salop MVC Hog Roast 5 September 2015 – Inside the Club House

We all had a thoroughly good time. For the second year in succession our musical director,Viv, had compiled a quiz to test our general knowledge, which was great fun.The bar was open all day, and the hog roast at lunch time wasabsolutely delicious, being topped off by strawberries and cream, and a variety of cakes. The event had been organised by the choir’s Ladies Committee who, as ever, had done a superb job. Our thanks to them, and also to the people who manned the bar, and the regular bowls players who gave up their time to teach those of us who do not usually play bowls.

We look forward to doing it all again in 2016!
