Newport (Salop) Male Voice Choir sing at Blymhill, Staffs on 27 March 2015

Following a very successful concert at Blymhill Village Hall last November our choir was delighted to accept an invitation to make a return visit. The hall is a real asset to this small community, with a very decent acoustic and and most impressive facilities.

The choir, conducted by our Musical Director Viv Redfern and accompanied by Mike & Jo Ward, was in very good form as it entertained a good audience with a mixed programme, combining traditional male voice choir repertoire with some more modern songs. Long standing choir members Alan Parker and Les Whitehouse added to the occasion with their solo performances, and the evening was compered by our Chairman, David Tooth. All in all, this was a thoroughly enjoyable evening for both the choir members and the audience, and we certainly hope that we shall be asked to return to this venue in the not too distant future.

Our next engagement is on Wednesday evening, 15 April, when we sing at Christ Church Little Drayton, Shropshire. This concert is in memory of John Thurman, a much valued member of our choir, who sadly passed away last year.
