On  25 November our choir performed in the lovely Norman church at Loppington, Shropshire, in an performance billed as An Evening with Newport Male Voice Choir. Also performing was opera singer Cathy Benson, from nearby Burlton.

We sang a mixed programme of songs, encompassing pieces such as the famous Welsh hymn Llanfair, Howard Goodall’s setting of The Lord is My Shepherd (best known as the theme to the BBC tv programme The Vicar of Dibley), and medleys of the songs of Perry Como and Frank Sinatra. Truly a mixed programme, and one that hopefully warmed the members of the audience on what was a very chill evening.
