EAMVC Annual Charity Concert, 15 July 2017

On 15 July members of our choir had the pleasure of taking part in the annual charity concert of the English Association of Male Voice Choirs, which was organised superbly by Birmingham Icknield Male Voice Choir, and held in the splendid Great Hall at University of Birmingham. The beneficiary charity this year was St Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham, a most worthy cause.

A number of member choirs combined for the evening, to form a massed choir of approximately 180 voices, under the direction of Steve Roche, the MD of the host choir. The evening was compered by Tafadzwa Mushipe, and the evening was enhanced by the superb performances of the SPAL Sovereign Brass Band and Jack Brookes. The choirs had been working towards this concert for a long time, and all this effort was justified fully by the performance on the night as they sang their way through a wide ranging programme.

This event is always a highlight in our choir’s year, and we very much look forward to next year’s concert.
