For our first concert of the new year Newport (Salop) & District Male Voice choir staged a very special event, being joined by some  young local performers for a charity concert in aid of Newport League of Friends X-Ray Machine Appeal.

Our guest performers were local students –  Haberdasher Adams Chamber Choir and soloists from Haberdashers Adams, Newport, and Newport Girls’ High School, all of whom proved wonderfully talented and gave vibrant vocal performances that delighted our audience. Our choir members also were on excellent form as they sang through a wide ranging programme.

The concert was attended by Margaret Woodcock, Chairman of the Newport League of Friends, and Peter Scott, the Town Mayor.

This was a a thoroughly entertaining evening, which hopefully raised a significant sum towards a very worthy local cause.
