For several years Newport (Salop) & District Male Voice Choir has performed at the annual Lights of Love service, held by  Severn Hospice in St Chad’s Church, Shrewsbury, and we were delighted to sing at this year’s service on Sunday 4 December.

As usual, there were two services held during the afternoon, and this beautiful church was full for both services. We sang three songs at each service, both performances being very well received by the congregation:

• All That You Were and All You Are (A. Simmons)
• Bridge over Troubled Water (P. Simon, arr A. Simmons)
• Let There be Peace on Earth (S. Miller & J Jackson, arr H Ades)

It is a real pleasure for us to give our support to such a worthy cause as Severn Hospice, and the fact that it involves performing in such a wonderful building as St Chad’s makes it doubly pleasing. We very much hope to be invited back in December 2017.
