The evening was seasonally chilly as our Choir made its first appearance at St John’s Methodist Church in Whitchurch, but this was negated, to a great extent, by the warm welcome that we received, and it seems safe to say that both choir and audience were feeling much warmer after we had performed our mixed programme of songs.
The choir, under the direction of Viv Redfern and accompanied by Mike & Jo Ward, were in good voice, and solo performances were given by choir members John Lofty (bass) and Ian Dunning (second tenor). David Tooth compered the evening with his usual professionalism.
After the concert both choir and audience were treated to refreshments, which included a hugely tempting selection of home made cakes.
Audience reaction to the concert was very positive, and all in all this was a very enjoyable evening. We very much hope that we may be invited back to this venue again at some future date.
